Overview
Play the arcade version of the classic Sega’s beat ’em up Altered Beast, originally released in 1988, on your browser, helping the centurion who was risen from the grave to rescue Zeus’ daughter, Athena, from a demon god named Neff.
He will face many monsters, including zombies, headless undead and other abominations, but will have the help of some power-up orbs that can raise his strength and eventually turn him into a lycanthrope of some kind.
The controls might feel a bit weird, but you’ll get used. And keep in mind that this is the actual arcade game emulated to run in your browser, not a remake.
Controls
- Arrow Keys: Move
- Button Y: S (Jumps)
- Button B: X (Punches)
- Button A: Z (Kicks)
- ↑ + Jump: Jump higher
- Insert Coin: Shift
- Start: Enter
- Attention: These controls are default for Player 1. Hover your mouse into the lower part of the screen and a control bar will show up. Click on the gamepad icon and set the Player 2 controls if you want to play Altered Beast with a friend.
- These default controls can be changed in-game.
