Christmas Sector

A festive parody with elements of Dark Souls, Dead Space and Destiny.

Christmas Sector is an indie soulslike fighting game with a Christmas theme where your goal is to fight monsters in an underground area while trying to figure out why the presents are disappearing. It was developed by DeadSector and initially released on December 19, 2019.

Published by DeadSector itself and made available for free for Windows, Christmas Sector features a third-person perspective, good three-dimensional graphics and survival-type mechanics. It is also a Christmassy and humorous version of Dead Sector, a game by the same author.

About the game

Christmas Sector is Christmas themed version of Dead Sector. Humanity is dependent on Christmas Gifts. Enter the depths of the Christmas Sector and find out why more and more underground gifts get lost. Fight against mysterious creatures and use their christmas spirit to charge your sugary weapon.

Gameplay

Christmas Sector is a third-person fighting game with a soulslike approach, featuring a combat system based on light and heavy attacks, dodges, and upgrades that can be applied to improve skills. Its atmosphere and gameplay style resemble Dead Space, but there are also similarities with other games, such as Destiny, in terms of design and overall experience.

There is no map to aid navigation, and the menus could be more comprehensive. It also seems that defeating strong enemies does not grant significant rewards, but the game doesn’t seem bad overall, especially considering it’s very homebrew and completely free.

• The demo is optimized for the Xbox controller.
