Overview
Formula 1 Sensation, also known in Japan as F-1 Sensation (エフワン センセーション), is a Formula 1 racing game developed by Konami and released for the Nintendo 8-bit (Famicom) in 1993. We have an online version of this game configured for browsers (HTML5)
It features 18 tracks, 16 of which are official circuits from the 1992 Formula 1 season, when Nigel Mansell was crowned champion. Providing a diverse experience, Formula 1 Sensation also offers free race and championship modes, with the latter including a short one-lap qualifying session before each race to determine the starting grid position for the next course.
The cartridge’s controls closely resembles Sega Master System‘s Super Monaco GP, with a combination of responsive controls and detailed graphics for its time, providing an engaging experience for racing fans. However, some critics noted the lack of innovation compared to other games of the genre from that era.
Formula 1 Sensation was officially published only in Japan and Europe. Its release in the United States was canceled.
