Overview
Galaxy Force is a Sega‘s rail shooter that looks like After Burner, but with a sci-fi setting where you’ll face not only Space Harrier-style enemy attack waves, but also natural phenomena such as meteorites, lava eruptions and tornadoes in four scenes set in space and/or alien planets.
It was originally released in 1988 to the arcades, but what we have here is the Sega Master System version, which was published in 89 and is said to be a port of Galaxy Force II, but with different enemy placements and without and the energy meter, the speed controls and the fifth level.
In Galaxy Force, the player pilots a cool spaceship armed with lasers and guided missiles through various scenarios with the mission to prevent an evil empire from taking control of the entire galaxy.
