As is often the case with its developer, videogiochi, this game may have been inspired by true old-school classics, such as Road Fighter (1984), a top-down racing title by Konami where the goal is to avoid traffic and collect fuel. Even older titles like Speed Race (1969) and Bump ‘n’ Jump (1982) also helped shape this subgenre with their obstacle-dodging and crash-avoiding mechanics. Whatever the case may be, Highway Race brings that simple and addictive style, with a nostalgic vibe straight out of the golden age of arcade gaming.
