Overview

Jungle Strike is the action-packed sequel to the best-selling Desert Strike and the second installment in the Strike series. This helicopter-based shoot ’em up was developed by Electronic Arts and Granite Bay Software and blends intense action with strategic gameplay, challenging players to navigate hostile environments while managing fuel, ammunition, and armor.

It was released initially in 1993 for the SNES, but here, we have it’s Mega Drive’s/Genesis’ version ready to be played online, in your browser (HTML5), so you can have its dynamic blend of high-stakes combat and tactical decision-making easily, enjoying a thrilling experience that keeps players engaged from start to finish without the need to install anything.

Plot

The game follows a new global threat: Ibn Kilbaba, the ruthless son of the previous game’s antagonist, has fled with his father’s fortune and nuclear weapons program. Seeking revenge against America, he allies with Carlos Ortega, the world’s most notorious drug lord, who harbors his own vendetta. Together, they establish a heavily fortified base in South America, armed with cutting-edge weaponry and a powerful private army.

Are you ready to take to the skies and stop this deadly alliance before it’s too late?

Gameplay

As an elite pilot, you must take on these formidable foes using a fictionalized Comanche attack helicopter, equipped with a devastating arsenal: rapid-fire chain guns, powerful Hydra rockets, and deadly Hellfire missiles. But the battlefield isn’t limited to the skies—players can also commandeer vehicles like a motorbike, a hovercraft, and even an F-117 stealth jet. Each vehicle brings unique advantages and tactical options, from executing high-speed assaults to launching mines against enemy ships.

Missions range from demolishing enemy bases and weapon facilities to rescuing hostages and capturing high-value targets. With a 2.5D perspective that adds depth to the battlefield, players must skillfully evade enemy fire, manage resources, and outmaneuver a relentless opposition featuring armored cars, artillery, and tanks.

Resource management is crucial—armor, fuel, and ammo are limited. Damage from enemy fire reduces armor, and running out of fuel results in a crash, costing the player a life. These resources can be replenished by collecting power-ups, refueling at designated points, and airlifting rescued allies to safety.
