TrenchPunk

A dieselpunk FPS inspired by Wolfenstein 3D.

TrenchPunk is an independent retro first-person shooter game heavily inspired by the classic Wolfenstein 3D that takes place in a dieselpunk version of World War I. It was developed by Didolino and initially released on September 7, 2022.

The action takes place in the trenches of WW1, featuring weapons based on actual wartime artifacts from the era. The level design and enemy soldiers are also notable, with attention given to certain elements, such as the fact of the infantry using bolt-action rifles and stuff.

Published by Didolino himself and available for free on Windows, TrenchPunk excels in what it sets out to do. It truly combines elements of Wolfenstein 3D with a gritty and consistent setting that represents this bloody war, intense combat, and a hard rock soundtrack.

Trivia

• TrenchPunk was developed with Game Maker.
• Audacity was also used to create this FPS.
• The game’s soundtrack was composed by Karl Casey, from White Bat Audio, a nice person that allows the songs to be used royalty-free in our projects (you just have to give attribution and follow a couple of guidelines).
