Overview
Trojan, also known as Tatakai no Banka (闘いの挽歌) in Japan, is an action game developed by Capcom and originally released to the arcades in 1986 that looks a bit like the classic Ghosts’n Goblins, but is set in a post-apocalyptic world.
Featuring side-scrolling action and multiplayer support (the arcade version can be played by up to two players alternating), the game’s controls consist of an eight-way joystick and two action buttons, one for attacking and other for raising the shield, which is used to block enemy attacks, including projectiles. It can be held while the player is standing or crouching, as well as upwards vertically and diagonally. Some enemies can throw magic balls that, if blocked by the shield, make the player lose his sword and shield until he finds his gear again.
Similarly to Kung-Fu Master, Black Belt and Rush’n Attack, the jump is activated by holding the joystick upwards, and the player is able to jump higher in certain points highlighted in the levels.
Trojan has six stages where the protagonist will face regular enemies, a sub-boss and a boss on each one of them. The player is allowed to start the game at any of the six stages.
What we have here is the arcade version of the game ready to be played in your browser, without the need to download and install it.
